What if 10 minutes this weekend could change the way your entire week feels?

We often think we need more motivation to stay consistent with exercise. But what we may really need is a realistic plan.

Before the new week begins, take 10 minutes and try this simple reset.

1. Look at the week ahead

What is already on your calendar? Which days are busy, and where do you have more flexibility?

Plan for your real week, not the perfect week you wish you had.

2. Schedule your workouts

Choose when you’re going to move and put those workouts in your calendar.

Two or three workouts you can realistically complete are much more valuable than an ambitious plan you can’t sustain.

3. Make a backup plan

What will you do if life gets in the way?

Choose a shorter replay, take a walk or complete five minutes of movement. Your backup plan still counts.

4. Get ready in advance

Set out your workout clothes. Put your weights somewhere visible. Choose your class or replay ahead of time.

The fewer decisions you need to make in the moment, the easier it is to begin.

5. Make one promise to yourself

Ask yourself:

What is one commitment I am willing to keep this week?

Keep it simple, make it realistic and celebrate yourself for following through.

A successful weekly workout plan for women over 40 doesn’t need to be perfect. It needs to help you adjust, return and keep moving forward.

You don’t need to organize your entire life this weekend. Just take 10 minutes to create a week that includes you.

Consistency over intensity. Always.
